Call of the Water
A year has gone by since we've done any serious cruising, but the call of the water is getting quite loud. It is music to our ears! Second Wind has served mostly as our floating condo on Wheeler Lake as we have completed some long overdue work on our home in Huntsville, Alabama. We've also been involved in building a new clubhouse (photo shown) with our sailing friends at the Muscle Shoals Sailing Club, near Rogersville, Alabama. That activity has given us reason to spend lots of time beside the river, even though we haven't been on it! The new clubhouse is delightful, and we will enjoy it for years to come.
Our next cruising adventure has never been far from our minds, and plans are coming together for fall and winter boat trips. We've had several get-togethers with much-loved Looper friends, which has only made us want to accelerate the schedule. So in early September 2009 we will be heading toward Chattanooga with the Levines on Sandpiper. Then in late October we are heading south, in the company of the Levines and a new crop of Loopers, with plans to spend winter 2010 in the Keys. Can't wait!
