Sunday Morning in Belhaven, NC, Waiting for Ma Nature to Do Her Thing

Sunday, May 06. Internet connectivity is really slow and weak here in Belhaven, so posting to the blog has taken hours! The forecast for the next few days from the National Weather Service is for sustained winds of 40-50 mph. Yikes! The boat will definitely be here for a while. Fortunately the sun is shining right now and the winds aren’t too bad yet. We’re heading to brunch at the Wine and Words café and hope to go back there again this evening. The Belhaven Yacht Club is having a seminar, and Claiborne Young, our buddy who writes cruising guides for the southeast coastal area, is the featured speaker. It will be fun to see him and meet some local folks from Belhaven (if the weather cooperates).

It's now 9:00 a.m., and we have begun to do some rocking and rolling. I'm glad we are tied up securely to the dock.
