The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

And then we saw her in the distance – the Statue of Liberty! As we approached, the fog lifted a little, and my heart was in my throat. That face. That crown. Our thoughts flew to the millions of immigrants who have been welcomed by the same face looking down on us in that moment. Snap! Snap! Couldn’t get enough. We took photos of Seaquel, and she of us. Then we had to move so others could do the same. Just past The Lady were the spires of Ellis Island, then the skyscrapers of Manhattan. Again emotions were high as we cruised past the site where the Twin Towers stood. All the while we were dodging fast-moving ferries!
