Picton to Trenton on Bay of Quinte, Ontario

Tuesday, July 3. As much as we would have liked to explore Prince Edward County further, we had to move on. (If we ever get up here again, we’ve heard that the town of Wapoo is a great place to visit.) We are now on the Bay of Quinte, still on Lake Ontario. I spotted a touristy-looking teepee on the shore and found out that we were going past a Mohawk Indian Reserve. Then over the VHF radio we heard the familiar voice of Loopers Mike from Jeanne Marie, then Duffie (faintly) from Work of Art. They said that a string of five Loopers boats will be coming up behind us. We can’t wait for a reunion and hope they will all be at the Rendezvous in a couple of weeks.

By 2:00 p.m. we were tied up in Fraser Park Marina, in Trenton. We are finally at the entrance to the Trent Severn Waterway, where we will leave the boat until we return from our trip home. Today and tomorrow, though, we will do some maintenance, cleaning chores, and sightseeing. WooHoo! The Trenton Library has free WiFi!
